HaiVision Ships Record Volume of the hai500 MPEG-2 Encoder/Decoder

August 29, 2004

These results follow closely on HaiVision’s acquisition of the video conferencing and broadband video communication assets of Miranda Media Networks and the MAC500 codec series earlier this year.

Throughout, HaiVision’s customers have praised the company’s smooth transition, its new corporate identity, and the rejuvenated focus on developing technologies for broadband video communication applications.

“The performance of the HaiVision team together with the huge support of our client base and partners has allowed HaiVision to accelerate its strategic development plans,” says Mirko Wicha, CEO of HaiVision. “We established the company to focus on highest quality broadband video applications and the results of our first quarter has re-assured clients and partners that we will deliver on our commitment to open new markets and introduce new, exciting products in the coming months”, added Mirko Wicha. HaiVision’s strong performance and record shipments included sales to Verizon, The United Companies, and Ahead Communications.

The hai500 series is available in two formats: The hai560 is a unique 3 rack unit, 6-slot system capable of delivering up to 10 encode / decode channels and is the only NEBS Level 3 certified product in its class, while the hai520 is a compact 1 rack unit, 2-slot system for edge device configurations. In accordance with HaiVision’s commitment to deliver full life-cycle solutions, the hai500 series is based on a flexible “frame and blade” architecture incorporating the highest quality MPEG-2 encoding and decoding technology. This architecture provides an evolutionary solution to support new technologies without the need for full system upgrades affording investment protection and seamless technology migrations for service providers.
