Enhances LMS with Introduction of Online Product Library System

December 5, 2000

The new system allows corporate librarians and training administrators to create a virtual catalog of all its training and development materials–including Web-based courses, CD-ROMs, videos, audios, print materials and downloadable electronic files–that can be searched and downloaded or “checked out” by users via the Internet or corporate intranet.

The system enables user and administrators to:

  • Add, delete and edit products in the library using simple text entry boxes, drop-down menus and check boxes.

  • Search for training resources using the system’s powerful search functions.

  • Check items “in” and “out” of the system with the click of a mouse, as well as view the status of accounts, including all items in a user’s possession and each item’s “due back” date.

  • View real-time user data from across the organization using Web-based reporting features.

  • “In essence, organizations can now implement a self-service library that enables it to share, distribute, manage and monitor both electronic and physical materials and documents using a centralized, web-based system,” explains Frank Russell, president of “The system will automate the labor-intensive process of setting up and administering an efficient corporate library, particularly for large, organizations with geographically dispersed employees and locations.”

The company’s new library system and LMS can be installed on’s servers via the ASP hosting model, or on an organization’s internal network.
