December 14, 2001

The Ohio Learning Network seeks proposals for its 2002 Emerging Needs program. Focus areas for content development are engineering, including information technology, and health care.

A total of $4,500,000 is available for the biennium to fund the creation and enhancement of distance-learning content. A minimum of $500,000 will be set aside for planning funds in the health care area in conjunction with the Ohio Board of Regents’ current work in health care. Additional funds for health care will be available in FY 03.

All proposals must include the following components:

  • Content – such as courses, modular instructional program, certificate program, degree program, and learning activities.

  • Replicable – can be transferred to other institutions or situations.

  • Campus match of at least 50% of grant funds requested. The match is critical to the success of the total endeavor and should be directly related to the project.
