eLearning Provider Mindleaders Offers KnowledgePool’s Live Online Instructor Mentoring Service

March 6, 2001

DALLAS — March 5, 2001–Mindleaders, a US e-Learning provider, will offer its students access to KnowledgePool’s live 24 x 7 mentoring service alongside its own e-learning courseware.

KnowledgePool’s industry-certified, online subject matter experts will be available to Mindleaders’ students studying courses that range from technical IT training and programming to basic computer literacy.

Research published in August 2000 by Forrester Research (Online Training Needs A New Course, by John P. Dalton) found that over half of the training manager and knowledge officer respondents believe that lack of interactivity in online learning is a major obstacle limiting the effectiveness of the training. Interactivity has been a fundamental element of KnowledgePool’s online learning since it was first launched in 1995 and remains at the heart of the company’s e-Learning service, with live instructors, discussion forums, and chat rooms.

“We are pleased to provide Mindleaders’ students with a feature so vital to the success of their learning experience,” said Vince Rowe, vice president KnowledgePool. “Live interaction is a key success factor for any learning activity, and students need to be able to progress through their studies and receive answers to questions quickly in order to both move through the training and also to maintain their motivation.”

“This is the best of both worlds — the benefits of self-paced Web-based training combined with access to subject-matter experts for personalized, one-on-one interaction,” said Angus Carroll, chief operating officer of MindLeaders. “As a result, learners will have a flexible, well-rounded learning experience in which they determine how much and what kind of help they need from an online instructor. Organizations will receive a greater return on their training investment and enjoy reduced demands on their own Help Desk and other in-house experts.”
