Eduprise Selected by the Community College of Denver to Expand e-Learning Program

July 11, 2001

Eduprise, the leading provider of enterprise e-Learning services for education institutions and businesses, announced today a three-year partnership with the Community College of Denver (CCD) to provide strategic planning, infrastructure support and instructional services to rapidly expand the college’s e-Learning program.

The program will enable the CCD to focus their academic programming on themputer literate, most are not. “Our mission is to close the digital divide by requiring all courses, effective fall 2001, to include at least one online component,” says Jeanne Stroh, Distance Learning Program Director for CCD. “Whether it’s accessing the course syllabus online or participating in an assigned online discussion, this initiative is a giant step toward helping students build the necessary computing skills to be competitive in the 21st century job market.”

To support the college’s mission, CCD selected Eduprise to provide planning services to facilitate the revision of its academic plan to incorporate e-Learning strategies to achieve long-term objectives. Additionally, Eduprise will provide 24×7 hosting and help desk support for Blackboard, the college’s selected enterprise e-Learning course management system. Eduprise instructional analysts will also provide training to ensure faculty have the technical and pedagogical skills to develop a quality online learning environment.

“We can do many things well on a small scale, but we do not have the experience or the human resources to think about how to move our e-Learning program to the next level,” said Dr. Barbara Bollmann, Vice President for Learning, CCD. “Because of Eduprise’s enterprise approach, foundation in higher education, and its history of success with similar schools, the decision to partner with them was a logical choice. We know they will help us succeed in obtaining our strategic goals.”

“We are pleased the Community College of Denver chose Eduprise to help develop a blended program that will expand their existing online program to attract students, while enhancing the traditional classroom offerings with online components,” said Bill Graves, Chairman and Founder of Eduprise. “We applaud their commitment to address the diverse educational needs of their students and the community’s workforce sector.”
