EDT Learning, Inc. Continues to Expand Client Base and Revenues

May 13, 2002

EDT Learning, Inc. recently announced it is continuing to expand its client base and win revenue-generating agreements.

Commenting on the announcement, James M. Powers, Jr., president and chief executive officer of EDT Learning, said, “We are now seeing a new demand for proposals and an increase in the size of projects that clients are requesting from us. In the wake of what the industry perceived to be a pause in spending, we are pleased that our e-Learning business solutions are being selected by so many companies in so many different industries. We believe that clients have become frustrated with solution providers who over-promise and under-deliver. Our organization has worked extremely hard to develop the highest quality products and services in our industry while ensuring clients achieve measurable returns on their investment. We are confident that the industry and clients will continue to appreciate the premium standard for products and service that our organization provides.”

Pegasus Solutions is contracting with EDT Learning to produce 26 custom training solutions for 26 of their major hotel chain clients. The training will focus on Pegasus Solution’s NetRez online hotel reservations system. The system allows reservation staff and front desk staff within hotels to access real-time rate prices via the Internet from the Pegasus database. The training will supplement their existing Instructor-led training courses that train these managers on how to work within the NetRez System. In addition to the custom training development, Pegasus will purchase multiple versions of EDT Learning’s IST(TM) content development tool to keep the training content updated.

Virginia Utility Protection Services has contracted EDT Learning to produce custom training and a learning management system for their call center. The center, which handles over a million calls a year, is the toll-free damage prevention center for the State of Virginia. “We have a very large call volume, and it is essential that each agent handles processes, routes and ultimately inquiries in the correct manner–every time,” noted Tina Kraus, director for Virginia Utility Protection Services. “EDT is enabling us to leverage technology to reduce time to front line competencies for call center staff as well as launch a start-up operation with tracking and utilization from the beginning. We were initially interested in EDT Learning’s content development tool, but we were impressed with the full catalog of products and services they provide. EDT was able to produce a custom solution tailored to our needs and give us customer service that exceeded our expectations.”

Economic Concepts Inc. has contracted with EDT Learning to produce an EDT Live Virtual Classroom training event. The training will be delivered to an estimated audience of 100 senior sales executives from a major global life insurance provider and will detail Economic Concepts product information. “The sales executives that sell our solutions need to continually stay current on our products to be successful,” commented Ken Hartstein, principal for Economic Concepts. “EDT Learning is helping us reach a very dispersed audience to relay the critical information they need. We are very confident that we made the right choice by selecting EDT as our provider. The program EDT Learning is building for us will help us to achieve our objective and return our investment within the first three months.”

The Real Learning has also contracted with EDT Learning to support the creation of “information flow” process training for a major automotive manufacturer. The online course is a prerequisite for a live workshop sponsored by Real Learning and CNET that will run this year and will provide a key content overview for the seminar. “Our challenge is to create a learning environment that will keep computer-proficient students as well as computer-novice students engaged and active in the learning process,” commented Richard Hodge, president of the Real Learning Company. “EDT Learning showed us that they can deliver web-based training with the interactivity and sophistication to keep an executive audience’s attention.”

The Boy Scouts of America also recently signed a contract with EDT Learning to produce three different programs. The programs, developed for the “Order of the Arrow,” The Boy Scout National Honor Society, will reach an estimated 48,000 Scouts and Scouters each year. “Our organization has relied on hard copies and video tape to disseminate our information to Scouts and Scouters in the past,” commented Mike Hoffman, a volunteer serving on the National Order of Arrow Committee of the Boy Scouts of America. “EDT Learning is developing a CD-ROM-based education program for us that was within our budget, up to our high standards and will save us a great deal of expense in the long run.”

Dr. Powers closed by saying, “The corporate sector of the e-Learning industry continues to face challenging economic times. The struggle for profitability by corporate America caused a lengthening of the sales cycle and disruption in their training departments. Because of our marketing and sales strategy and our product mix, we have seen a building pipeline and renewed interest in cost effective e-Learning solutions. We see continued excitement and demand for our unique Human Capital – Workforce Performance Management solutions. Unlike many in the corporate e-Learning sector, we hope to continue to differentiate ourselves by our bottom line.”
