March 27, 2001

DENVER – March 26, 2001 – eCollegeSM [Nasdaq: ECLG], an eLearning software

and services provider, today announced the availability of its unique Campus

AuthorSM tool, empowering administrators to easily change and update their

online campuses in real time, without any knowledge of HTML. The tool is

already being used by 12 institutions.

“eCollege is on the forefront of developing eLearning technology, and this

tool is another innovative way we can help educators efficiently manage

their online programs,” said Oakleigh Thorne, chairman and CEO of eCollege.

“This tool allows administrators to easily update online campus content, and

focus their attention on building their programs and working with faculty,

instead of the technology.”

Campus Author is another use of eCollege’s Visual EditorSM tool that has

already been implemented in its course delivery system and widely adopted by

faculty to easily edit and format online courses. Campus Author provides

administrators 24×7 access to and control of their eCollege-powered online

campus, whether the institution uses the company’s CampusPortalSM, Premium

Campus Gateway or Campus GatewaySM. Using the tool, administrators can view

their edits in a preview mode before the changes go live.

“eCollege has provided our online virtual campus with yet another tool,

Campus Author, so we can keep our online programs current and provide the

latest information to students,” said Darla Runyon, Assistant Director and

Curriculum Design Specialist at Northwest Missouri State University.

“Campus Author allows us to update our virtual campus Web pages immediately.

Using the Visual Editor provided within this new and intuitive product,

simple text changes can be made and posted to the website instantaneously.

It really makes a difference in providing timely information to students in

our online programs.”
