e-dentist’s Learning System Designed for AICC Compliance

March 2, 2001

PHOENIX — e-dentist.com, Inc. (AMEX:EDT – news) announced today that it has met the qualifications for enrollment in The Aviation Industry Computer-Based Training (CBT) Committee’s (AICC) self-regulatory program for compliance. Enrollment in the AICC program entitles e-dentist to use the AICC logo when marketing and distributing its e-learning products indicating that the products are “Designed To AICC Guidelines.” Consumers and businesses around the world look to the AICC Compliance program to help them identify exceptional quality products that comply with specific AICC Guidelines and Recommendations (AGRs).

Through its enrollment, e-dentist certifies that its Learning Management Systems (LMS) meet or exceed the standards established by AGRs 2 through 9 and provide levels of functionality and interoperability for a wide variety of CBT and e-learning products. e-dentist intends to submit its LMS for full certification and testing by the independent lab of the AICC early this year, specifically addressing AGR-010 – Web-based Computer Managed Instruction (CMI) Systems Guideline. Being an AICC/CMI-certified vendor means that the LMS can launch and track any AICC-compliant training course. This certification assures buyers and creators of AICC-compliant online learning content that their courseware will work on the LMS.

James M. Powers, Jr., D.D.S., president and chief executive officer of e-dentist, said, “We view this as an important step in the extensive AICC certification process. We fully support the efforts of the AICC in their advancement of global standards for learning solutions. We are committed to providing the highest quality e-learning engine and learning management system that are compliant with AICC standards and ultimately benefit our corporate customers.”

The AICC is an international association of technology-based training professionals that sets guidelines for the development, delivery, and evaluation of computer-based training (CBT) and related training technologies for the aviation industry. Since a vendor’s interoperability within one industry applies to all industries, AICC standards have become a benchmark for training technology across the board. AICC membership draws from aviation, airlines, military, government and education as well as the training industry and includes international organizations such as Boeing, Northwest Airlines, Naval Air Systems Command and the FAA. “We support the efforts of organizations like e-dentist, and we encourage customers to seek AICC-certified companies when purchasing technology-based training solutions,” said Scott Bergstrom, executive administrator of the AICC.

Dr. Powers added, “We continue to broaden the reach of our e-learning customer base to include not only dental vendors and pharmaceutical companies, but also to those outside the e-health sector. We also are targeting Fortune 1000 corporate customers whose training needs are in line with our expertise.”
