DoubleClick selects Docent to power Dart product training

October 10, 2001

Docent Inc. (Nasdaq: DCNT) recently announced that DoubleClick Inc. will use Docent to manage its global DART (Dynamic Advertising Reporting and Targeting) product training for current and new customers.

DoubleClick, which has offices in 37 countries, will deploy Docent Enterprise™, an integrated product suite for both learning management and learning content development and delivery, to more than 2,000 customers in nine languages.

“Our growing global customer base and multiple product lines made managing our product training extremely complex,” said Phil Hamel, senior manager of global education services at DoubleClick. “We chose Docent because we think they have the best overall technology for the job, and we like the fact that their Content Delivery Server will allow us to repurpose our existing training courses for this new program.”

Through DoubleClick’s central servers, the DART platform enables customers to control and centralize the targeting, delivery and reporting of their online advertising campaigns. With a distributed system architecture and servers located throughout the world, the DART platform offers the scalability, reliability and power needed to deliver any volume of online advertising.

“DoubleClick’s use of Docent for DART customer training illustrates how an organization can extend the benefits of eLearning beyond its internal operations,” said Dave Ellett, Docent’s president and chief executive officer. “Our superior multiple language support is an essential component of a global company’s eLearning strategy.”

Docent Enterprise includes the Docent Learning Management Server™ (LMS), Docent Content Delivery Server™ (CDS), and Docent Mobile™. The CDS enables real-time delivery and management of personalized learning. By tracking the learner’s interaction with content at a detailed level, it also allows companies to analyze the direct correlation between learning and business performance. Docent’s thin-client architecture enables learners and managers to access Docent’s eLearning solution via any wireless (browser-based) device including handheld PDAs and smart phone browsers.
