DigitalThink Development Tools Put Customers in Control

May 8, 2002

San Francisco, May 8, 2002 – DigitalThink, Inc. (Nasdaq: DTHK), a leading provider of e-learning business solutions to Global 2000 companies, announced today new content development tools for the DigitalThink E-Learning Platform, empowering customers to create and update content for delivery via DigitalThink.

“Openness and flexibility are critical attributes of a truly powerful e-learning solution,” said Mike Pope, president and CEO of DigitalThink. “DigitalThink’s new development capabilities give our customers more choice in the development and maintenance of their e-learning content, including access to our recently announced, SCORM-native learning delivery system.”

The new DigitalThink E-Briefings Producer enables customers to create their own e-briefings. The simple-to-use E-Briefings Producer allows anyone with basic PowerPoint skills to convert a presentation into a SCORM-based, Web-delivered, trackable e-learning module complete with multimedia and assessments. E-Briefings provide a solution for the rapid distribution of critical information to a large or dispersed audience.

DigitalThink’s new edit tool, DigitalThink Revise, gives customers editing privileges for the e-learning courses developed for them by DigitalThink, allowing them to independently update the content. The easy-to-use Revise tool has built-in version control, with the ability to revert to previous versions, and a built-in quality assurance process.

“DigitalThink wants to offer customers ultimate control in the development and maintenance of e-learning. These new tools allow them to roll up their sleeves and get involved,” said Umberto Milletti, vice president of solutions management at DigitalThink. “DigitalThink is continually working to ensure that our technology offers the highest degree of flexibility in order to meet the evolving needs of our current and future customers.”

DigitalThink partnered with Presedia Inc, the leader in technologies for rapid e-learning solutions, to offer E-Briefings Producer to DigitalThink customers.

In addition to the development capabilities that E-Briefings Producer and Revise provide, the DigitalThink learning delivery system makes it possible to deliver any standards-based e-learning content through the DigitalThink E-Learning Platform. The course content will be delivered in the DigitalThink Learning Environment, providing learners with a robust, engaging learning experience that only DigitalThink can offer.
