DDI Awards Click2learn $1.3 Million to Convert Landmark Leadership Curriculum for Web Delivery
BELLEVUE, WA, March 6, 2001 – Development Dimensions International, Inc. (DDI), a global provider of management training, has awarded Click2learn (NASDAQ: CLKS) a $1.3 million contract to convert its world-renowned leadership curriculum into robust, multimedia-enabled e-Learning courses.
As part of the partnership, Click2learn will electronically deliver DDIs market-leading management training over its e-Learning Network to selected Click2learn corporate partners, DDIs own Global 1000 clients, as well as virtually any company with Internet access.

Over the next few years, DDI plans to incorporate online learning segments into most of its management, front-line, service, and executive training courses.
During the first phase of development, Click2learn and DDI analyzed DDIs course offerings and prioritized 24 core courses to convert into a top-quality training series optimized for electronic delivery.
To speed the development process, the web-based courses are being developed using Click2learn’s Rapid e-Learning Development System (ReDS) – an ASP-based, collaborative, and scaleable platform for web-based course development. By enabling developers to work on projects concurrently from remote locations, Click2learn’s ReDS speeds the process of creating fully interactive, data-rich courses optimized for an online environment.
The first series of modules will be from DDIs two leading learning systems – Techniques for a High-Performance WorkforceSM and Interaction Management®: Tactics and Strategies for Effective Leadership®. These two systems have been used to train over three million leaders worldwide and will soon be available via Click2learns e-Learning Network. Concurrent with the development of these courses, DDI has created several methods by which learners can practice the skills learned in the web-based content. These practice wraparound options will enable DDIs clients to build blended learning solutions that will ensure transference of the learning to the work environment.
The courses are also supported by and linkable to DDIs groundbreaking electronic performance support system called OPAL™, Online Performance and Learning. OPAL provides instant access to hundreds of online job-aids that support and extend the content in the web-based courses being developed by Click2Learn. OPAL will be an option for integration in the e-Learning Networks created for DDIs clients.
