Congress Shouldn’t Intervene in Google Program, Public Knowledge Advises

Background: Tomorrow, Nov. 1, Google is due to restart its program of scanning books under copyright for its Google Print program for libraries. Today, Public Knowledge President Gigi B. Sohn sent a letter to key Congressional leaders saying that Google’s use of material from those books constitutes fair use, and that Congress shouldn’t become involved in the issue.
