CollegisEduprise and TechSkills to Offer Information Technology (IT) Certificate To Higher Education

March 6, 2002

The programs, branded in the name of the learning institutions, allow students

to study skills-based courses that are highly relevant to today’s job market

– particularly in the technology sector — under the auspices of their local

community college or university.

The exclusive partnership between CollegisEduprise, the leading provider of

comprehensive business, technology and education services to higher education,

and TechSkills, a Wisconsin-based technology education company, enables institutions

to rapidly deploy highly effective IT certification training programs. The agreement

will provide client institutions a set of TechSkills training products integrated

with existing CollegisEduprise diversified services, including support services,

mentorship and management at colleges and universities nationwide.

Participating institutions will have the ability to create or expand IT curriculum

offerings that include practical, hands-on experience and content for the most

sought after industry certifications, such as Microsoft, Cisco and CompTIA.

Courses will offer the TechSkills Facilitated Learning Method, which features

integrating Web-based online learning with proven classroom teaching methodologies.

The result is a highly personalized and convenient instruction path for students.

The CollegisEduprise-TechSkills relationship could prove a powerful revenue

generator for participating colleges eager to educate their students while serving

the real economic development needs of their respective communities.

Despite the recent economic downturn, the demand for certified IT professionals

continues to grow. Over the past year, according to the U.S. Department of Labor,

base salaries for IT workers grew at a rate of 6 percent nationally, or one-and-a

half times the 4 percent growth rate of the average American worker. The Labor

Department projects domestic growth of more than 100 percent in IT professionals

over the next eight years.

Colleges and universities are eager to tap this market but are often constrained

by capital limitations, recruitment of adjunct faculty, the high rate of change

of subject matter and other obstacles, all of which are addressed by the CollegisEduprise-TechSkills

partnership.

"CollegisEduprise is a visionary company that has been at the forefront

of providing new learning centered solutions to the higher education market,"

said Kevin Paulsen, president and CEO at TechSkills. "This relationship

helps us to expand our student base and maximize our exposure in the rapidly

growing sector of IT training in higher education."

CollegisEduprise has more than 110 clients nationwide, nearly half of which

are community colleges, such as Valencia Community College (Fla.), Salt Lake

Community College (Utah), North Shore Community College (Mass.) and Brookdale

Community College (N.J.).
