Collegis signs technology management agreement with Mohave Community College

December 19, 2002

Collegis, the leading provider of comprehensive technology services to higher education, will manage all core technology functions at MCC, including the most efficient use of administrative software, such as financials, admissions and registration.

The corporation, based in suburban Orlando, Fla., will provide an executive director to lead the MCC information technology department and develop a strategic transition from in-house to outsource technology management staff. Most current MCC information technology (IT) department staff members will have an opportunity to join Collegis staff, while leaving options open to recruit and hire more technology talent to the various MCC campuses.

The Collegis technology management contract takes effect Jan. 6, 2003.

MCC selected Collegis to upgrade and manage technology systems at its four main campuses in Kingman, Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City and Colorado City, and two learning centers in Fredonia and Littlefield.

“Collegis provides us with the human resources, industry expertise and proven success that would be difficult and costly to duplicate on our own,” said President Thomas C. Henry, Ph.D., of Mohave Community College. “The decision to outsource our technology puts us in a better position to focus on our strategic goals of teaching and learning, all of which will be aided in small or large part by superior technology management.”

Collegis has nearly 100 college and university clients nationwide, including several in Arizona and the southwest, such as Northern Arizona University, San Juan College (N.M.) and at seven Southern California client locations.
