Click2learn Fine Tunes Customer Education with Customer Productivity Center Launch

October 15, 2002

BELLEVUE, Wash.–Oct. 15, 2002–Click2learn (Nasdaq:CLKS) today took its customer education and support programs to a new level with the launch of its Customer Productivity Center (CPC), a special password-protected Web site offering training and essential information to customers of Click2learn’s Aspen Productivity Suite, the industry’s most comprehensive enterprise productivity offering.

Click2learn’s Product Training and Documentation team created the CPC after a full-scale analysis of customer needs and expectations, based on both in-depth interviews and extensive online surveys. The company also analyzed its own internal resources, polling customer support, training and product engineers to assess the most prevalent customer concerns.

The CPC will provide Aspen 2.0 users with access to a single, online resource to maximize their experiences with the assortment of enterprise productivity applications that comprise the Aspen suite. The site, powered by Aspen 2.0, offers 24/7 access to training details, online learning, knowledge documents, technical summary documents and feature enhancements.

“The goal of the Customer Productivity Center is to provide an optimal environment in which our Aspen customers can learn how to refine and expand their use of the Aspen platform to address their business and learning goals,” said Sudheer Koneru, Click2learn executive vice president, customer services and strategy. “We are pleased to be able to offer our customers a centralized resource that is fully responsive to their needs.” According to Koneru, the CPC is also an ideal way for Click2learn to graphically demonstrate the comprehensive features and functionalities of the Aspen Suite.

The CPC features a customer-requested, customer-driven curriculum, targeted at audiences comprised of Aspen administrators who configure the suite for their companies, content authors and content managers. The site’s resources include “Conceptual Knowledge Documents” such as product release notes, system requirements, and installation and upgrade guides, as well as self-paced tours and relevant material repurposed from outside sources, such as industry research, trend pieces and white papers. The CPC addresses issues beyond “How do I?” questions, offering:

— Conceptual information that provides a context in which to

make configuration and authoring decisions

— Examples of innovative uses of Aspen

— Module-based and feature-based documentation that provides

scenarios for use, frequently asked questions, and technical

information

— User documentation that administrators can modify as needed,

and distribute to Aspen users within their companies

— Training and services information

The CPC site offers a wide variety of product-related training content and information about Aspen’s core applications and add-on modules. Among the growing library of more than 60 technical and conceptual knowledge documents currently available on the site are:

— “Using Personalization to Enhance Your Corporate Culture”

— “Using Categories to Organize Knowledge”

— “Getting to Know Aspen LCMS: A Self-paced Tour”

— “Getting Started with Aspen LMS (a guide for end users)”

— “Using Adaptive Learning in Aspen LCMS”

— “Building and Delivering SCORM Courses in LCMS”

— “Customizing and Branding Your Aspen 2.0 Interface”

— “Organizing an Aspen Training Structure”

— “Setting Up Organizations, Jobs and People”

— “Using a Collaboration Center to Enhance Learning”

Click2learn will continue to develop additional site content in direct response to specific learning needs as indicated by its customers.
