Click2learn (Nasdaq:CLKS) announced it has entered into a strategic alliance with Element K, a pioneer in computer training and now a leading provider of e-learning solutions focused around information technology and business skills.

Under the terms of the agreement, Click2learn and Element K will work together to ensure the interoperability of Element K’s content with Click2learn’s award-winning Aspen Enterprise Learning Platform™. Additionally, the organizations will jointly market the combined solutions to select enterprise organizations.

“Our alliance with Click2learn will offer enterprises a powerful and comprehensive e-learning solution,” said Bruce Barnes, CEO of Element K. “Combining the power of Aspen with our broad course libraries, we can deliver high-quality, integrated solutions that meet a wide range of customer needs.”

Click2learn and Element K both actively promote the adoption of a unified technology standard, and have been among the first to demonstrate compliance with the Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM™) 1.2 specification published by the Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) initiative. The alliance will allow the two companies to further leverage SCORM to help customers accelerate their business success.

“Working with leading content providers such as Element K allows us to provide an integrated package of platform and courseware to companies who want world class solutions without the integration concerns that can be common in this industry,” said Kevin Oakes, chairman and CEO of Click2learn. “This partnership is another example of Click2learn’s commitment to providing standards-based e-Learning solutions that are focused on getting our customers up and running as successfully, and as quickly, as possible.”
