Centra and Sistemas CBT Partner to Support Live Collaboration and Learning Solutions in Mexico

October 9, 2003

Sistemas’ value-added Centra services include bi-lingual (English and Spanish) technical support and professional services from installation and implementation to consulting, training and content creation. Sistemas also has expertise integrating Centra with third-party applications via the Centra API toolkit.

Sistemas CBT is Centra’s exclusive distributor in Mexico and resells the full line of Centra collaboration and eLearning applications, both as a packaged product and Centra’s hosted ASP service in Mexico. Sistemas CBT provides collaboration and live eLearning applications, Learning Management Systems, Asynchronous Content (both IT content and custom content), and Professional Services. Sistemas has the experience, knowledge and infrastructure needed to solve their customers’ training and communication problems. Focus areas include collaboration tools from Centra combined with eLearning content development services and IT certification paths mentoring.

“Sistemas has focused exclusively on serving the fast-growing Mexican market for integrated eLearning solutions,” said Valentin Gonzalez, general manager, Sistemas. “Our strategy is to represent companies that offer best-of-breed technology that will allow our customers to create a solution that fits the unique needs of their organization. Our customers have been very enthusiastic about Centra, and we already have several major customer commitments in process. We look forward to continuing to make more of these solutions available to our customers as we extend our relationship with Centra.”

In a recent customer win at PEMEX, a government-owned oil company in Mexico, Sistemas used the Centra API toolkit to integrate the PEMEX Learning Management System (LMS) with Centra. Through this integration, PEMEX is able to create and modify events, assign users and roles, and launch Centra events through the LMS the same way as any learning object on their learning paths – creating blended learning solutions for the PEMEX professionals. Sistemas also sold and installed Centra software at CETRO, a consulting company that provides advice and training to the small and medium-size market in Mexico. Sistemas CBT is currently working on a program to deliver training on Centra products in Spanish, benefiting all organizations whose employees speak Spanish.

“With economic globalization and trade agreements, the Mexican industry has entered the world market and in order to successfully compete in this environment, we selected a reseller that understands the value of real-time communications, collaboration and learning solutions,” said Paul Daly, senior vice president of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for Centra. “Thanks to our agreement with Sistemas, Centra is now able to provide a complete solution that includes integration of a live eLearning environment with content creation, implementation and support services to our customer base in Mexico.”
