Campus Pipeline Makes the Grade at the University of Miami
The University of Miami, the largest private research university in the southeast, is joining more than 100 higher education institutions in unifying its technology with the Campus Pipeline Web-integration software to provide students, faculty and staff with single sign-on access to all campus services.
The University of Miami prides itself on academic excellence and plans to continue to enhance and support its services for the university community and meet institutional goals through the use of technology. In order to continue to advance, faculty and staff recognized the need to unite the college’s disparate systems under a unified Platform for greater accessibility to services.
Careful evaluation of technologies revealed that the Campus Pipeline Web-integration software was the best solution for a technology that could integrate the university’s legacy systems with other applications and meet the needs of all university constituents by providing targeted messaging and a customizable single-sign-on user view.
“After an exhaustive evaluation of available technologies, we found that only Campus Pipeline had the vision for open integration and for the unification of our varied systems and applications that we desired,” said Dr. Mary Sapp, Chair of the University’s World Wide Committee.
The unification of Miami’s digital resources will spark an automatic exchange of information between technologies and is expected to produce dramatic improvements to efficiency and the daily experiences of university constituents. Based on the outcomes achieved by other Campus Pipeline partner institutions, the university expects to achieve:
- Significant improvements to communication throughout the
university as students, faculty and staff become aware of the
vast number of services available to them as a result of
receiving information and access to university resources based
upon their university role and interests
- Secure, single point access to password-protected information,
services, e-mail, and announcements
- Automated integration with course websites, student
information systems, and key campus applications
- Reduced reliance on paper-based communication
- Leveraged and expanded value of existing university
technologies
