Bush Says He’ll Seek $4.6 Billion Boost in Education Spending

TOWNSEND, Tenn., Feb. 21 — President Bush today proposed increasing federal education funding by 11 percent next year, giving the Education Department the largest increase of any Cabinet agency but far less than the amount President Bill Clinton had sought.
