Babson College & Indeliq Form Alliance to Build Sophisticated Simulation E-learning Applications

May 11, 2001

Indeliq, a provider of performance simulation e-learning solutions to the corporate enterprise market, and internationally recognized Babson College recently announced they have formed an alliance to develop simulated e-learning applications.

Through this alliance, Indeliq and Babson are jointly developing a suite of seven web-based simulations entitled “Building Business Acumen” that combine Babson’s integrated curriculum and Indeliq’s performance simulation design methods and technology to build high-value business skills. Indeliq was recently launched as an independent company by Accenture, the world’s leading provider of management and technology consulting services and solutions. Indeliq has built on the patented performance simulation technology that Accenture developed over the last ten years and is delivering proven simulation-learning technology to a wide audience of corporate users.

Indeliq’s performance simulation technology immerses students in a robust, interactive learning environment where they learn by doing. With 60 hours of total instruction time, the Building Business Acumen offerings provide individuals with active, real-world roles, where they are encouraged to take risks and face realistic outcomes, while they learn and master job-related skills. Corporations are increasingly recognizing the effectiveness of such learn-by-doing techniques. E-learning solutions that incorporate performance simulation technology can improve cognition and retention by up to 15 times, according to a landmark study by the NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Sciences.

World-class executive education content

“To succeed in today’s intensely competitive environment, business executives must continually expand their business and managerial skills to become more innovative and better adept at problem solving and recognizing new market opportunities,” said Indeliq Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Daniel Hamburger. “We are thrilled to have as a content partner a world-class university like Babson that is internationally recognized for its focus on entrepreneurial management education in a changing global environment. For more than 25 years, Babson faculty has been designing and delivering executive education programs.”

Through the alliance, Babson faculty provides specialized executive education content and expertise on business needs and learning objectives, drawn from their years of teaching similar courses in traditional classroom settings. In addition, Babson professors will provide course epilogues to update learners on recent events and offer commentary regarding case studies. Each title provides learners with simulated activities backed by a robust feedback mechanism that directs them to expert resources, online coaching and specific reference materials to help them successfully complete the task. In addition, high-end multimedia tools, including text, graphics, videos, and interactive practice problems, enhance the real-world quality of the performance simulations.

“We are excited about combining the Building Business Acumen titles with our traditional face-to-face executive education methods,” said Thomas Moore, CEO of Babson Interactive LLC and dean of the Babson School of Executive Education. “We think this combination of Indeliq’s technology with Babson’s intellectual capital will surpass anything available in the e-learning marketplace.”
