The Aristotle Corporation (Nasdaq: ARTL – news), a leader in medical and computer-based training products, today announced an agreement with “Quinnipiac University Online” to offer continuing education courses for health care professionals. The classes, which will provide Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits, will be offered through a separate company now being formed and owned jointly by Aristotle and Quinnipiac’s online affiliate, “Quinnipiac University Online.”

“We believe that our computer-based training expertise combined with Quinnipiac’s distinguished health care faculty will create a powerful company that can obtain a significant share of the growing online training market,”said John J. Crawford, chairman and CEO of Aristotle. “With this partnership, our Safe Passage International subsidiary can blend its proven computer training techniques with Quinnipiac’s sophisticated health care content to present a convenient on-line solution that allows busy health care professionals to meet their continuing education needs.”

Richard Ferguson, Quinnipiac’s vice president and chief information and technology officer, said, “Our university has clearly identified a need among its allied health care graduates for an innovative online solution to fulfill their CME requirements. Our faculty’s impressive knowledge base in conjunction with the expertise of medical professionals will be made available through computer-based CME courses over the Internet to provide our alumni, as well as hundreds of thousands of other allied health care professionals, with the opportunity to receive quality training through an interactive program.”

The first two courses under development are expected to be available this summer and will be provided to Physician Assistants, who total approximately 38,000 in the United States. Future courses are being considered for Nurse Practitioners, who number 70,000 nationally, and Respiratory Therapists, who number 120,000 nationwide.
