Access Aware: Technology tools for all students in the inclusive classroom

June 7, 2001

You are invited to attend a FREE online event on Access Aware: Technology tools for all students in the inclusive classroom hosted by WestEd RTEC Learning for Everyone and The Alliance for Technology Access (ATA). The live event will be held on June 11, 2001 at 2:00pm PDT and will last approximately 1 hour. You may register and begin participating in the discussion on May 29, 2001.

This event is for teachers, administrators, technology and curriculum coordinators from both special and general education who are interested in selecting and adapting technology as a tool for inclusion of students with diverse needs.

Registration starts May 29 with a pre-event discussion, followed by a one hour spotlight *Live* event on June 11 at 2 p.m. PDT.

Russ Holland will moderate the event. Russ has been involved with assistive technology for the past 25 years. As a classroom teacher and then as founder and director for nine years of an ATA Center, he has a wealth of experience and will offer possible solutions and resources. Participants will also have an opportunity to preview ATA’s newly released “Access Aware: Extending your reach to People with Disabilities* online manual.

The pre-event email discussion starts on May 29 for posting introductions, questions, and a review of current resources. This will be followed by a live online event on June 11 where Russ will present an introduction to the manual and will interact with participants in real time via chat.
