20th Annual TeleCon Awards and Prestigious Pillar Award to be Presented At Fall TelECon Expo

This year marks the 20th Annual TeleCon Awards, a salute recognizing the best products, applications and services for collaboration, conferencing and e-learning. These prestigious awards will be presented at TeleCon 2001 Conference & Expo to individuals or organizations that have builtor utilized a collaboration system that delivers outstanding service. “Call For Entries” submission forms can be found online at www.teleconexpos.com. The deadline for Call For Entries submissions is Friday, August 3, 2001.

Categories for submission include Marketing for which editors from Advertising Age will present awards for best web site, best print ad, best corporate brochure and best direct mail piece/project. Editors of e-learning magazine will present the e-learning awards divided by levels of education, and members of the FGDLA will present the award for the best e-learning program for the government. Dr. S. Ann Earon with the IMCCA and Mike Pihlman of Berkeley Labs will judge the Conferencing category and will offer 5 awards, ranging from best MCU to best service provider to best gatekeeper. The category of Collaboration will be judged by David Coleman of Collaborative Strategies, who will judge products and services in the areas of value chain collaboration, training and e-learning as well as innovation, knowledge management and community, among others. The fifth category will be Application/Users, with awards to be presented to the most innovative use in videoconferencing, most effecting use in web conference and others. Lastly, awards will be presented in the category of Streaming Media, and will be judged by the IMTC for best audio, best video and best content delivery. In addition, The Pillar Award will be awarded to the individual or organization with the most positive impact in the industry overall.
